We trust Salto because of the many advantages its smart access ecosystem provides—for the LOOM member experience, the efficiency it brings to our workspace operations, and its impeccable after-sales service.
Now, members enjoy a seamless digital and keyless experience, allowing them to access all areas of the building for which they have permits using a single credential, either in physical (card) or digital (mobile key) format.
The demand for flexible, collaborative, and well-located workspaces has grown rapidly in key cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, especially among entrepreneurs, start-ups, and freelancers. LOOM, as a company that creates and operates coworking spaces, has responded by offering modern and versatile spaces in strategic locations. However, this model also presents some unique challenges.
Unlike traditional offices, where a stable workforce observe predictable schedules, coworking spaces must accommodate a dynamic user base, with people coming and going throughout the week and with different timetables. In addition, they must offer greater value to their members by providing them with flexible meeting and working spaces that can adapt to all their needs.
In this context, the management of access and bookings among the LOOM community becomes a key challenge within its operations and its security strategy. Physical keys and traditional control systems do not offer the flexibility or efficiency required for such a dynamic environment.
For LOOM, the need was clear: to find a technological solution that would allow its users to access their spaces and work areas safely, fluidly, and autonomously, while integrating with existing security systems (such as Genetec) and their operational management platforms (such as Nexudus).
This required a flexible and connected smart access platform, which could offer a modern memeber experience while also streamlining operational management from the operator's point of view.
To respond to the managerial and experiential challenges in flexible workspaces, LOOM has deployed the Salto Space platform, which is fully integrated with Genetec, its security system, and Nexudus, its operational management platform.
This solution allows centralised access control for all LOOM centres from a single platform, facilitating more efficient, secure, and scalable management.
When a user hires a LOOM space, they’re automatically assigned a unique digital credential that gives them keyless access to both the contracted building and other LOOM locations, if their plan allows it. This credential – which can be a card, a smartphone, or a PIN code – allows access to common areas such as:
- Entrance turnstiles
- Meeting rooms
- Workstations
- Car parking spaces
- Restricted areas, and more
All this is facilitated without the need for physical keys or the intervention of on-site personnel.
Thanks to the integration with Nexudus, the system allows access permissions to be assigned automatically when a reservation is made, eliminating manual steps and significantly improving the user experience. For example, when booking a meeting room, access is granted immediately, without the need to contact the reception staff.
"One of the main reasons why we chose Salto, and the one I would particularly highlight, is its ability to integrate with the different platforms we use, especially Genetec and Nexudus," says Álvarez.
"This integration greatly improves the user experience. Now, when someone books a room, they can access it directly with their card, without depending on the host like before. This responds to a real need and represents an indisputable improvement."
- Keyless experience: Smooth and modern access for users via mobile keys or cards.
- Flexible and up-to-date permit management: Registration, cancellation, or modification of permits, and closure management adjusted to each member profile.
- Intelligent space control: Integration with Nexudus booking and management tools, allowing you to optimise availability and prevent overcrowding.
- Advanced and integrated security:
- Full integration with Genetec's comprehensive security platform, ensuring unified control and enhanced protection of users, assets, and facilities.
- Total access coverage: The Salto platform addresses all access points in the LOOM ecosystem, including: Meeting rooms, entrance turnstiles, parking and perimeter accesses, common areas and restricted areas
- Reinforced security: Immediate blocking of unwanted access, providing greater peace of mind to users.
- Detailed access reports: Accurate and visual data that allows you to detect patterns, optimise resources, and make decisions based on real usage.
- Operational scalability: Management of multiple centres from a single platform, with third-party integration and centralised control.
