When Owl Square Coliving began planning their coliving centres in Hong Kong, Founder and Director Max Poon says they knew they wanted a robust electronic access control solution that catered to young and connected residents. With the XS4 One battery-operated electronic smart lock wireless electronic locks for door hardware, managed by SALTO ProAccess Space. The project has grown to include access for 14 locations, more than 300 access points, and over 500 daily users.
Owl Square Coliving manages its properties from an off-site headquarters, which is why they value SALTO’s centralised management platform. If there is an urgent situation – for example, a guest did not close a door, an intrusion event, or a need to unlock a door for a tenant – they can manage it remotely for any of the properties. This often avoids the expense of physically sending a technician out to a property.
The Owl Square Coliving administrative and operations teams manage the system. They assign keys for new tenants, routinely check every lock, and conduct system health assessments to ensure it is always up to date and functioning correctly.
