A new facility management platform is making it easier for schools and organisations to keep students and staff safe by integrating Salto access control with alarms, cameras, and HVAC into one simple dashboard. Launched in New Zealand and now expanding globally, Concierge Security Solutions is helping non-technical teams manage complex security systems with just a tap.
Concierge has been founded by Darren Burke, Managing Director of Salto Certified Installer, Securacore.
As a security installer supplying Salto, camera and alarm system installations, Darren saw first-hand the challenges faced by his clients in managing multiple advanced systems.
There would often be multiple logins, each with a comprehensive and advanced management dashboard. Managing user permissions across multiple systems was complicated and time-consuming. Particularly for clients who had opted to self-manage systems, they faced bottlenecks in system updates due to team availability and expertise.
Seeing this dilemma play out for a school client in New Zealand is where the idea for Concierge was sparked. Darren explains,
“We were initially called in to install an NX Witness camera system - and the client asked us about doors. We suggested Salto. Not too long later we were engaged to install an Ajax alarm & duress system, and the conversation shifted to ‘how can we make all these systems talk?’. And that was it –
We saw an opportunity to provide a platform that would integrate and link these systems together Our goal was to make advanced security simple. Whether it’s a school principal or a brand-new staff member, anyone should be able to secure a site and keep people safe with just one tap.”
To solve these challenges, Darren created Concierge, a platform designed to bring simplicity and speed to security and systems management.

Schools can also choose MimicCloud as an additional solution for principals and key personnel. This adds one-click lockdown generation, instant access to live camera feeds, and advanced cloud-based management tools — enhancing decision-making and situational awareness on top of the Concierge mobile application.

Real-world impact: Mountainview High School simplifies security and saves energy
Mountainview High School, situated in South Canterbury, New Zealand, is using the MimicCloud platform. One of the greatest benefits the school has found is the ease with which energy, access and alarms are now all managed with a single tap of a credential – saving time and significantly reducing incidents.
“We hire our gym out to external community groups. With Salto, we already had a great level of security and flexibility around access. Now, with MimicCloud integrating HVAC and Ajax alarms, we have the user badging Salto to unlock the gym – which now automatically not only disarms the alarm, but turns on the climate control and unlocks the other required access points. When the group leave, they badge the reader on exit, which enables the alarm, locks the doors, and re-enables the alarm. Nothing is left to chance. And I, or my team, can remotely check the status of all the systems on the MimicCloud app.”
For Mountainview, the solution has enabled them to capitalise on their access control system as a way of controlling other elements, leading to increase energy savings, and reduced incidents with false alarms.
“Another item that was important was being able to initiate Salto’s lockdown from the app. Knowing an authorised user can do this instantly, from anywhere in the school, has been a great peace of mind for us.”
