SENS Innovation has integrated Salto’s on-premise door lock solution to their guest room management system (GRMS), greatly boosting the functionality of the GRMS.
The GRMS maintains guest room comfort at the highest energy efficiency and provides analytics related to room energy performance. Designed either for retrofit or for new build projects, it allows the smart hotel operator to control energy requirements to meet: guest comfort prerequisites, seasonality, occupancy fluctuations, and operational requirements that affect energy efficiency.
Adding access control integration to the GRMS solution provides endless advantages.
SENS Innovation has implemented room-level integration between Salto smart door locks and the SENS Innovation GRMS. Using the signals received from the door lock, management can monitor entrances and exits from the room in order to manage AC and light resources to save energy.
Identification between guest and staff entrances to the room, paired together with the GRMS' programmable lighting scenes, also allows for clients to customise occupant lighting welcome scenes as desired.
Integration between the locks and third-party GRMS is also possible using the Salto lock gateway. This receives and processes events from the Salto door lock using the InRoomNode and then forwards these events over RS485/Ethernet/Wi-Fi to a GRMS controller using an ASCII based protocol.
